Dewarp

Dewarping Capabilities for Fisheye Cameras.

Fisheye or Panoramic Cameras have extremely wide angle lenses for covering a large Field of View. A 360° Panoramic Camera covers such a large area that the image is distorted or ‘warped’ especially around the edge of the frame. If you have ever seen a fisheye type image, then you know what that distortion looks like. Dewarping technology provides a geometric correction for the image. We are pleased to say that most Uniview NVR’s have a Dewarping feature built in.

If you are using a dewarping device, you can digitally zoom into portions of the image, functioning as a virtual PTZ, get views from four different angles simultaneously, and also utilize a 360° panoramic overview without moving the camera. Therefore images are rendered in a corrected or ‘dewarped’ status.
